How did Greenlife get its name?
"Green" - to demonstrate "growth" in value of the underlying benefits of your policy and "Life" - to indicate that it is a life assurance product, designed to meet the ever changing financial needs of our clients as
the "cycle of life" progresses.
Greenlife is a new generation Life Assurance product that is so innovative, flexible and unique that you can truly call it a "wealth creator"
Greenlife is innovative - in the manner the product architecture is designed.
Greenlife is unique - not available from any other Life Assurance company in Malawi.
- Unique in the way it is inflation and market linked to achieve
'growth'.
- Unique in its versatility and range of benefits offered.
- Unique in the way savings benefits are completely separated from
risk benefits in the same policy contract; something that was
previously not possible under the traditional (Reversionary Bonus)
type of life assurance policies.
Greenlife is flexible - depending on the client's financial needs.
Benefit components can be added to the contract as and when required and equally be removed -without the other benefits being affected.
Single premium injections are allowed to enhance your savings or retirement capital.
Ad hoc cover increases is allowed over and above annual automatic benefit escalation.
Greenlife is Inflation linked - policy benefits will be protected against the ending effected of Inflation, because:
Automatic, compulsory annual increases on the benefits are based on the year-on-year Urban Inflation rate in Malawi to ensure that the monetary value of benefits is safeguarded. These annual automatic increases in cover are carried out without the client having to go for any further medical examinations.
Automatic, compulsory annual increases in the premiums of Savings and Retirement benefits will ensure that the value of contributions over the premium paying term is not eroded by the effects of Inflation.
Clients also have the option of selecting an escalation rate above the inflation rate (between ^% and 20%), to enhance the growth of benefits under their Personal Financial Planning and Personal Retirement Planning Contracts.
Greenlife is unit linked - Premiums for Savings and Retirement benefits are invested in the Old Mutual Malawi Investors' Fund (Taxed) and the Old Mutual Malawi Investors' Fund (Untaxed), respectively. These two funds are "unitised" market linked funds with a bias towards Money Market instruments. The investment performance of these two funds, together with the number of units purchased every month, will determine the growth in savings and retirement benefits under the Greenlife Savings and Retirement Annuity components. The disinvestment values of the savings and retirement components will, at any point in time, depend on the number of units accumulated under these components and the unit price at the time of disinvestment.
Greenlife is a real "Wealth Creator" and does it very competitively and in a unique and innovative way compared to traditional life assurance products. Wealth is created when the insured amounts are paid it death.disability and diagnosis of severe illness. Wealth is also created when the client makes part or full disinvestment of the Savings benefit(s) without necessarily having to terminate the rest of the policy contract. Old Mutual Asset Managers constantly strive towards producing inflation-beating investment returns, thereby ensuring that real wealth is created for the client over time.
The Greenlife bouquet of "modular" components/benefits and the flexible manner they can be grouped together under the same contract, provide the client with a financial plan, tailor-made to suit his/her own financial needs. Premiums may be paid monthly or annually. As the cycle of life progresses, clients also have the assurance that their Greenlife plan may be adjusted to cater for their changing financial needs. Financial planning has definitely become much easier, because Greenlife provides a "Plan for Life" under the following two Financial Planning Products.
